What’s the deal with this abstract painting? Did you stop painting faces?

I’m still painting faces, but I’ve started painting abstract paintings as well.  To be honest, I’m cheating a bit, because some of my abstract painting are painted over older paintings. 

Like this one, I let the old image show through and remain part of the painting.  I enjoy the play of the old and the new. 

I’ve had this hanging on the wall for a bit and I wanted to share my thoughts about it.
