Original fine art oil/latex painting
I based this on my daughters drawing of her stuffed tiger “Tigie”. I found the simple childish composition somehow powerful. This recurring image hold a place of importance in her life and I wanted to convey that on a larger scale. I began by pouring and splattering the paint on the canvas while it was on the floor. I went over that with oil paint, letting it drip and run. To me this is about the strength of icons and the fun of creating paintings. Painted in 2021.
