Painting of a figure. This is part of a series of 12 paintings of very similar figures. This explores the idea of individualism. Each painting is basically the same uniform figure, but each painting is a individual as well.
These “skinny guys” are recurring images I have been exploring for years. This series deals with the concept of iconography. These are my symbols to represent what it means to be human.
These are also about society verses the individual. There are no defining aspects of these figures. They lack hair, arms, unique clothing. They are totally uniform, yet that are not duplicates. They seem to have their own personalities…even with minimal details. Painted in 2018.
